The eligibility test consists of 3–4 varieties of objective items — analogies, classification, matching, comprehension of a research study or theoretical viewpoint — alongside standard multiple-choice items. All items are framed strictly from the published syllabus. Medium of test: English.

What is a research problem? Selecting the problem, necessity of defining the problem.
Meaning of research design, need for research design, features of a good design. Sampling design — census and sample survey, implications of a sample design, steps in sampling design, criteria of selecting a sampling procedure.
Coding and decoding, blood relations, time and distance, simple and compound interest, permutation and combination, number system, odd man out.
Ph.D specialisations across Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Electrical & Electronics, Mechanical, Civil, Environmental and Transportation Engineering.
Ph.D specialisations across Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmacognosy & Phytochemistry, and Pharmacology.
Ten-unit syllabus covering anatomy, physiology, electrotherapy, biomechanics, neurological, orthopaedic, cardiopulmonary, OBG and rehabilitation physiotherapy.
