About the Council

The Academic Council is the principal academic body of Chaitanya (Deemed to be University), responsible for the maintenance of standards of instruction, education, and examination across all faculties. Constituted under the Statutes of the University, the Council comprises the Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor, Deans, Heads of Departments, faculty representatives, distinguished educationists, and ex-officio invitees.

Functions of the Council

Academic standards

Oversee curriculum design, instruction quality, and the conduct of examinations across all schools and departments.

Programmes & syllabi

Approve new programmes, course structures, syllabi, and revisions proposed by the Boards of Studies.

Research & evaluation

Recommend measures to promote research, evaluate academic performance, and grant degrees and diplomas.

Statutory authority

Constituted under the University Statutes; advises the Executive Council on academic matters and policy.
